چکیده
Electromagnetic light from the Sun is largest source, and cleanest energy available to us; extensive efforts have been dedicated developing science engineering solutions in order avoid use of fossil fuels. Solar transforms photons into electricity via photovoltaic effect, generating about 20 GW USA 2020, sufficient power 17 million households. However, sunlight erratic, technologies store electric storage are unwieldy relatively expensive. A better solution deliver this on demand chemical bonds: synthesizing fuels such as H2, methane, ethanol, other species. In review paper we focus titania (TiO2) nanotubes grown through electrochemical anodization various modifications made them enhance conversion efficiency; these semiconductors will be used implement synthesis H2 water splitting. This document reviews selected research TiO2 that ongoing our group context current worldwide. addition, manuscript enriched by discussing latest novelties field.

Self-organized TiO 2 nanotubes (TNTs) with average inner diameter of 109 nm, wall thickness of 15 nm, and tube length of 7– 10 μm were loaded with nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles via incipient wet impregnation method. The molar concentration of Ni(NO 3 ) 2 ⋅6H 2 O aqueous solution varied in a range of 0.5M–2.5M. The samples were characterized for crystalline phase, morphology, topography, chem...

متن کاملCdS sensitized 3D hierarchical TiO2/ZnO heterostructure for efficient solar energy conversion
For conventional dye or quantum dot sensitized solar cells, which are fabricated using mesoporous films, the inefficient electron transport due to defects such as grain boundaries and surface traps is a major drawback. To simultaneously increase the carrier transport efficiency as well as the surface area, optimal-assembling of hierarchical nanostructures is an attractive approach. Here, a thre...
متن کاملHomogeneous Photosensitization of Complex TiO2 Nanostructures for Efficient Solar Energy Conversion
TiO₂ nanostructures-based photoelectrochemical (PEC) cells are under worldwide attentions as the method to generate clean energy. For these devices, narrow-bandgap semiconductor photosensitizers such as CdS and CdSe are commonly used to couple with TiO₂ in order to harvest the visible sunlight and to enhance the conversion efficiency. Conventional methods for depositing the photosensitizers on ...
